How it all began
Patrícia and Marcos met at the end of 1991 and got married just seven months later — she was 21, he was 25.
After nearly seven years of marriage and no children, they separated in 1998. Still, the love never truly faded. Patrícia never stopped praying for Marcos and continued signing her name with the initial of his last name for over 22 years.
Marcos, on the day of their divorce, walked down the courthouse stairs and said out loud, “Goodbye, Patrícia. See you in 20 years.”.
More than two decades later, with no contact during that time, they miraculously crossed paths again — in a small market on the same street where Patrícia lived. It was love at first sight, for the second time.
Overwhelmed with emotion, they embraced and knew instantly that they wanted to pick up where they left off. Today, they live united, more in love than ever.
Over 25 Years of Passion for Fashion, Translated into Bags with Story and Style
The story of Emporio MP began in 1996, when Marcos, already active in the fashion industry, started designing bags and clutches—a passion that would evolve into a well-established business. The brand’s name was inspired by a memorable encounter between Marcos and Patrícia at a local “emporium” next to her house, which also explains the initials “MP,” representing their names. The logo features a bag with a heart in place of the letter “O” in "EMPORIO," symbolizing their shared love for bags, fashion, and one another. Even after their separation in 1998, Marcos continued growing the wholesale bag business, supplying top fashion houses and premium boutiques across Brazil, with regular appearances at events like Minas Trend, Salão Casamoda, and the TM Showroom Fair, solidifying his more than 25-year journey in the fashion world.
